Here in the south, the time to go out and play is autumn, not summer. In the summer the heat and humidity is so stifling that my kids and their friends don't like to stay outside longer than 10-20 minutes. But now that it's down to low 80's in the daytime, they will spend all hours outdoors!
Earlier this morning Kaitlyn and her little friend actually wanted their jackets on because it was in the low 60's-which is cold to my little ones. (It's funny to think that I grew up in a place where the mid 60's often could've been the highest temperature of a summer day)
Kaitlyn and the little girl I babysit have been having fun going outside to play in the mornings. They like to find flowers and leaves around the yard to make a "cake".... A yummy leaves and dirt cake!!

If it really is autumn, as you've claimed; where are the colorful leaves?
