Alan's War Drawings....

Alan loves to draw. He especially loves to draw war pictures. This is one he was drawing last night when he was supposed to be going to sleep. Army stuff is almost all Alan thinks about and plays. He even builds "army barracks" out of the hymn books at church when he should be listening. Notice in the picture how the airplane and one of the tanks are only partially drawn on the edge of the paper as if it were an actual picture of an actual battle. Notice also all the fires and the destruction... should we be worried???

"What are you looking at?"

William got this bouncy activity center for Christmas, but he was only 3 weeks old then. This is the first time we put him in the bouncer and he was able to actually hold himself up and play in it. He really seemed to enjoy it. When we took this picture, he was happily grabbing at the different toys in front of him, and we got him to look up just long enough to get this cute picture.

"I'm wearing Daddy's boots, Oh Yeah!"

Tom came home from the Olympic trials in Colorado last night.

Kaitlyn put on his old black army boots this morning and was happily clomping around the house yelling, "I'm wearing Daddy's boots, ooooh yeee---aaaahhh!" She's very happy her Daddy is finally home.

Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!!!

All week at Hannan Elementary is Dr Suess's birthday celebration in the kindergarten and 1st grade classes. Sarah had fun celebrating today. Alan is in the second grade now, so he didn't get to participate in any of the fun. Alan was kind of sad about it, so we made green eggs and ham for dinner that night at Sarah's request. The hats they're wearing are made out of fleece, and I sewed them for them last year. They put them on for this picture. Sarah is going to wear her hat to school tomorrow. Also notice Sarah is wearing the Cat in the hat "tummy" her teacher made for her at school. We had alot of fun watching the food turn green. We even decided to turn the apple juice green.
